Candle making has long been a beloved craft, merging artistry with utility. In recent years, the focus has shifted towards eco-friendly practices. This has prompted crafters to seek sustainable materials.

Ecrylimer Pro offers one of the safest and eco-conscious alternative to traditional concrete. Revolutionising the way artisans can create candle vessels, or works of art, or both!

At Bramblier, we're passionate about offering innovative, friendly solutions for artists and hobbyists. Today, we're excited to guide you through making candle vessels using Ecrylimer Pro.

Your Eco-Crafting Candle Vessel making Journey Starts Here!

How Do I Create a Candle Vessel with Ecrylimer Pro?

In your selected mold/s, mix the compound as per the instructions – 2.5:1 Powder into liquid ratio. You have approximately 8-10 minutes of “working” time to add pigments. Then demold at 35 minutes after pouring. If you are pouring lots of molds we now have a time "Extender" available to mix up larger batches, or

lots of colours for marbling.

How Do I Seal a Candle Vessel? - The Magic of Matte Sealer.

We recommend using our formulated matte sealer. This sealer protects your candle vessels from wax seepage. Designed to maintain the elegant matte finish that complements any décor style. Matte Sealer - https://www.bramblier.co/product-page/sealer-natural-matte-finish-water-based

You can apply the matte sealer after demolding. Wait about 30 minutes to an hour is optimal for allowing the cast to firm up.

Apply at least 2 - 3 very liberal coats and it will seep in. Pay particular attention to the inside of the cast to ensure good coverage.

Pat any excess product with a paper towel to avoid white areas once dry

Leave dry for 48 - 72 hours while it cures, then pour in your wax.

What if I want some sheen?

We have two options that can go on the outside of the candle vessel over the matte sealer. Either the beeswax polish or our lightweight gloss sealer. 1. Gloss "Lightweight" Finishing Glaze Water Based Sealer - https://www.bramblier.co/product-page/ecrylimer-gloss-lightweight-finishing-glaze-water-based-sealer 2. Wax Polish - Top Coat Lustre Finish https://www.bramblier.co/product-page/wax-polish-top-coat-lustre-finish

Note - only the matte sealer is suitable for use for candle vessels filled with wax. Interested in our other Sealers? Check out our Sealing Guide here

What wax can I use with Ecrylimer Pro?

We have tested Ecrylimer Pro with different waxes. Options include Soy, Paraffin and Coconut blends including variations on those themes. We’ve also tested single and multi-wick bowls.

But, before starting production, you should test your candle prototypes in every way.

Some common FAQs on making candle vessels with Ecrylimer Pro

Can Ecrylimer Pro candle vessels be customised in terms of colour and texture?

In every way you can think of! If you can imagine it, you can create it. If you want some help on how many shell chips to use for example, just get into contact with us.

How does the cost of crafting with Ecrylimer Pro compare to traditional materials?

At first glance, Ecrylimer Pro costs more money than concrete materials. However, it comes at zero cost to your health. The ingredients in regular concrete cement, invented in the 1800s, are basically the same today. But our medical knowledge has improved since then. For example, we now know the horrible, chronic effects that lime and silica can have on the human body after long-term exposure.

There are many hazardous chemicals, not just in concrete powders, but in other art and craft products sold in Australia. You should learn about them and choose to avoid exposure to volatile organic compounds, formaldehyde, and ammonia. Using Ecrylimer Pro in its many different applications assures you peace of mind, for free. You don't have to worry about risking your health when crafting.

While Ecrylimer Pro may cost more money upfront, it protects your health and safety, which is priceless. Traditional craft materials can potentially expose you to harmful substances over time. Ecrylimer Pro allows you to craft without those risks.

Can I use Ecrylimer Bold? We recommend Bold is suitable for candle holders, but not vessels.
